Passport Scanner Elyctis ID BOX One 121

The multi-reader ID BOX One 121 of the French company Elyctis, is an original device that allows you to read and verify passport details in one motion. It has an optical scanner for the zone MRZ (machine-readable zone or else: machine reading zone) of the passport as well as an inductive reader for the passport chip. 

The MRZ zone consists of 2 or 3 lines of coded text and is usually located at the bottom of the personal information page of the passport holder or ID cards (foreign citizens). The information it contains is: Name, Gender, Document Number and Type, Country, Date of Birth and Expiration Date of the document. All of this information is read by the device's built-in scanner and can then be saved on your computer. The reading speed of the MRZ zone data is 2 seconds.

In addition, the ID Box One 121, reads and decodes the data stored in the electronic chip of the passport. In the chip, in addition to the aforementioned personal information, the passport holder's photo is also stored. And in this case, the personal information read by the device's built-in chip reader can then be saved on your computer. The speed of reading the information on the chip is 2-3 seconds.

In addition to simple reading, the device also allows you to check the authenticity of the document, since if the MRZ zone data does not match those stored in the chip, you are notified by the application. You can also check if the passport photo differs from the one stored in the chip.

Beyond passports, the reader ID BOX One 121 is able to read the MRZ zone and the inductive chip from credit-type cards, such as ID cards, residence permits, or driver's licenses of various countries.
